“Sweet Salvage on Main” is now co-located with “A Brush of Whimsy” These two organizations combine to be the place where you can customize your purchase, your home, your art and your wedding, with our one of a kind inventory of furniture, collectables, smalls and outdoor accents.
These stores are more than the usual vintage, reinvent, and repurpose shop. In addition to furniture and stunning lighting fixtures, they offer charming accessories and housewares, glorious jewelry finds, and much more. From crystal to cow skulls, they have an eclectic mix to share.
Keeping true to the concept that vintage items should be preserved, they prepare them in such a way as to keep them in circulation. By updating items to express today’s well-loved rustic, shabby chic themes, the ‘throw-away’ culture is combated. So instead of making new imitations, they simply go to the antique source and let the superior craftsmanship of way back shine through.
Additionally, individuals are encouraged to cultivate their own ideas and to bring their own pieces in for advice or refinishing. Together, the community is engaged in its mission to honor the past in the present. And so, this appreciation for the creative spirit extends to artists. From time to time, Pittsburgh artists will be featured in the store and on the website.
Wedding consultation in the form of coordination with items to buy and rent to add that magical “Alice in Wonderland” touch to a bride and groom’s special day.
